Natural Hemorrhoid Treatments That You Can Try At Home

Hemorrhoids or piles (as these are more commonly called) can be extremely irksome. Sometimes, these can be itchy as heck; while others are downright painful, can be easily inflamed and even become sensitive to the touch. Fortunately, the symptoms of mild cases can be curbed by using simple, easy-to-do natural hemorrhoid treatments. If you are looking for such treatments, here are some of the things you can try.

1. Water. Water is probably the best natural hemorrhoid treatments you can try. Simply drinking more than 8 glasses of plain water a day can lessen the possibility of constipation and bowel straining, which in turn makes you less prone to painful piles. At the same time, water is essential to keep the area clean, which can lessen the possibility of itchy or sensitive hemorrhoids. Lastly, you can use ice — or more specifically, ice packs as a way of keeping the pain down when the piles become inflamed.

2. Killing off bacterial growth in the affected area is the very principle behind most prescription and medicine-based topical solutions that we have today. You can use other home prepared products to do the same. Applying plain, unflavored yogurt to the area after a good wash can have the same benefits; just make sure that you wipe and wash off the product too after 3 to 5 minutes.

Creating a paste from 1 teaspoon of lukewarm water, plus powdered myrrh, or white oak or goldenseal root and applying it directly on the piles and its surrounding areas can also kill off possible infections. The pulp of a freshly harvested aloe vera leaf also has the same benefits.

Curing Piles without Surgery Or Expensive Medicines

Although a lot can be said about surgical and/or medical procedures for the eradication of piles (also known as hemorrhoids,) there are still a greater number of people who would rather handle this quietly in their own homes. And that means trying to cure piles without resorting to expensive treatments and medications. If you are looking into the different ways of curing piles without surgery or relying heavily on prescription medicines and topical solutions, you might want to try:

1. Lessen the strain on that particular area by providing relief from the swelling. Using sitz baths for at least 3 or more times a day can keep swelling and itching down. Simply fill your bath tub (or any large, shallow container) with warm water and sit on the liquid for 10 to 15 minutes at a time — or whenever the piles become troublesome. Always make sure though that the bathtub is always cleaned prior and after use, to eliminate the onset of more infection. Make sure too that the water is warm and not hot, as the latter might cause the piles to become more sensitive.

2. When curing piles without surgery or medications, you have to sometimes turn to the most innocuous products for relief. In this case, you might want to use live yogurt as a way of killing off bacteria that may be growing within the folds of the skin. This is best done after cleaning the aforementioned area with soap and warm water, and drying off gently with a clean towel. Apply a teaspoon of yogurt (plain, unflavored one will do) and let it sit there for 3 to 5 minutes. Then wipe away and wash again with soap and water.
